Stefani is a four year old girl who was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. I do not know her mother personally, but I feel a strong need to make a little girl smile and to make her mothers life a wee bit easier. I don't know much about the situation, but I do know that Stefani's current home is a hospital where she is undergoing chemotherapy and expected to beat cancer.
Through Twitter, I've decided to start a sort of fundraiser for Stefani. My thought is that each day someone sends a care package or gift (monetary or what have you) directly to the hospital in which she is staying. I already called the hospital, and got some information, which will help our cause.
With the help of the families' neighbor, Christine, I was able to put this together. Christine also came up with the name, "Stefani's Butterflies" because Stefani LOVES butterflies (Hint Hint).
If you would like to participate, in any way, please leave a comment about what you'd like to send, and include your email address and name. Ideally I would love her to receive something each day that she is in the hospital. It would be great if someone who lives in Toronto could kick it off, so that she may receive something as soon as tomorrow.
If you would like to send money, I will give you her mother's full name. Also consider savings bonds, gift cards, etc..
Most people know what a four year old likes - coloring books, stuffed animals, BUTTERFLIES!!
Her mom is a single mother of five children.
If you would like to donate $$, you can send it via paypal to e.orfanides@gmail.com ... I will send a bank check to the hospital each Friday.
